Yield and Purity

Purity
It is the amount of product that is pure in a reaction.
If the product is harmful, it is known as impurity.
Yield
It is the amount of product being obtained from a reaction

What if the mass of the compound (physical) is not the same as the theoratical compound?
- human error
-machine problem
-apparatus problem
How to reduce this error's?
-cleanliness

Finding %yield

Percentage Yield is the calculation of the amount of product that is produced to the amount of product that is expected.
Calculation:
%yield
= actual mass obtained / calculated mass x 100%

Example
Finding %purity

Percent Purity is the percentage of the mass of a substance to the mass of the impure substance. This means there are usually some impure substances in a chemical reaction. But we need to calculate the amount of impure substance in an equation
Formula:
%purity of product=
mass of pure product/
mass of impure product obtained x 100%
